What Your Posture Says About You

Writer's picture: Arjun RihalArjun Rihal

Your posture can be influenced by various factors, ranging from environmental conditions to your emotional well-being.

Individuals experiencing stress, depression, and anxiety often exhibit a less favourable posture compared to their confident and calm counterparts.

Why is this important?

Research indicates that maintaining poor posture can have adverse effects on your overall health, leading to issues such as:

  • Back pain

  • Neck pain

  • Back stiffness

  • Headaches

  • Digestive problems

  • Disrupted sleep

  • Lack of motivation

So, what does this mean?

The key is to stay active. Sedentary lifestyles pose the greatest threat to our posture and spinal health, and have been linked to an increased risk of osteoporosis in adults.

What steps can you take?

Stay Active!

Engaging in regular physical activity can help alleviate muscle tension and limitations, as well as effectively manage pain.

For instance, try to stand up and move around, or stretch, every 20 minutes while sitting at a desk.
